1) WWI. A good example of a German M1916/17 helmet. This helmet has a dark gray/green painted finish that may have, at one time, also had camouflage paint. The helmet has a 3-pad leather liner, and is stamped on the inside left “W66”. No chinstrap. CONDITION: helmet finish is about 50%. Liner is dry & worn but present. 2) WWII. An example of a German single decal Luftwaffe M1940 helmet. Helmet has a dark gray/blue finish with a single Luftwaffe decal on the left side. Liner is complete. No chinstrap. Helmet is stamped on the inner left “SE64”, and on the inner rear “4419”. CONDITION: helmet body has an overall oxidized patina with only traces of original finish. The liner is present but exceptionally dry. 3) WWII. An example of a relic German M1942 helmet that seems to have the remnants of a tan painted finish. There are also the remnants of an Afrika Corps decal on the left side. No liner or chinstrap, but the band is present. CONDITION: helmet has an overall oxidized patina with a few areas that appear to show tan camouflage paint. The decal is about 10% intact and is probably Afrika Corps. The inner band is oxidized.
