1) IMPERIAL GERMAN. A fine Bavarian officer's sword, measuring 37 1/2" overall with a 31 3/4" double-fullered blade. The blade is etched with a foliate motif bearing the words "In Treue Fest." Gilded brass hilt with a Bavarian rampant lion on the front languet. Foliate-decorated knuckle bow and backstrap with a well-articulated lion head pommel. Wire-wrapped composite grip. Plated scabbard with a silver bullion sword knot attached. CONDITION: sword shows light wear overall. 2) WWII. A German Wehrmacht officer's sword measuring 37" overall with a 31 1/2" blade. Blade is marked on the ricasso "ALCOSO AC (logo) S SOLINGEN." Gilded brass hilt with a Wehrmacht eagle on the front languet. Wire-wrapped composite grip. Black enameled iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows original factory polish. Hilt retains substantial gilded finish but needs a good cleaning. Scabbard has heavy oxidation to the surface and does not slide easily onto the blade, likely because of material deposited into the base of the scabbard. 3) CHILD'S SWORD. A very nice example of a child's or cadet's sword measuring 26 1/2" overall with a 21 1/2" rounded tip blade. The blade shows etched foliate decoration and has a single narrow fuller. Gilded brass hilt with crossed sabers on the front languet and a lion head quillon. Plain knuckle bow with a foliate-decorated backstrap and lion head pommel. Wire-wrapped sharkskin grip. Plated iron scabbard. CONDITION: sword shows light to moderate wear with minor oxidation to the blade and scabbard. (02-23395/BF). $600-800.
