1) FLINTLOCK FOWLER. Cal. 52. NSN. Bbl. 46 1/2" 2 stage oct. to rnd. w/ wedding ring transition. Unmarked. Maple stock. CONDITION: good overall. Stock originally attached to bbl. w/ 3 keys. Key near muzzle is missing & stock broken at that point. Metal is overall dark patina w/ pitting. Lightly engraved brass trigger guard & buttplate & sideplate have medium mustard patina. An old brass piece of sheeting repaired wrist for continued use. Mechanically needs attention, pitted bore. (01-17308/JS). 2) PERCUSSION CONVERSION RIFLE. Cal. 44. NSN. 37 1/4". Oct. bbl. Double set triggers, unmarked, drum & bbl. conversion, brass mounted. CONDITION: good overall. Iron is pitted brown patina overall. Brass is cleaned w/ light mustard patina. Stock has been refinished & stretched from front pipe forward. Mechanically functional w/ pitted rifled bore. (01-17309/JS). 3) HEAVY BARRELED CINCINNATI PLAINS RIFLE. Cal. 40. NSN. Bbl. 36" oct. w/ front blade sight & fixed rear sight. Weighs in at 11.5 lbs., striped maple stock w/ carved 2 phase cheekpiece. Bbl. is unmarked, but flint to percussion conversion lock marked "T. DAVIDSON CO / CINCINNATI O". Double set triggers. Brass mounted. Long, almost 6" bbl. tang retained w/ 2 screws. CONDITION: good to very good overall. Metal overall is mostly dark patina w/ pitting around breech. Brass mts. w/ mixed light medium mustard patinas. Stock is sound w/ hand worn patina, some burnout around bolster. All-in-all a well preserved heavy bbl. Kentucky rifle of the type that saw service in the West shooting buffalo. Worn dark pitted bore. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Dan Poppen. (01-17310/JS).
