This lot contains 3 stunning Damascus steel, double-edged, spear point camp knives reproduced by Lewis Drake from a pattern out of the 1925 Manton "Centenary" Catalogue. The knives were forged entirely by hand by their own old world craftsmen and should not to be confused with cheap "Damascus" looking knives on the market. The knives measure 15 1/4" in the sheath. The blades are 9 1/4" in length and a sturdy 1 1/2" in width with the ricassos stamped "LD" in an oval. The hilts are 4 5/8" in length with 2-piece checkered buffalo horn grips. The heavy oval shaped guards are made of brass, as are the rivets securing the grip and the escutcheon plates on the front grip. This style knife is an ideal companion to carry in the bush for general camp use, light wood chopping, and, of course, for defense. These fine bladed weapons are equipped with their own custom leather sheaths, boldly marked "Lewis Drake". CONDITION: like new with only storage wear. PROVENANCE: from the renowned collection of quality sporting arms from Lewis Drake together with inventory of Lewis Drake Associates. (02-23573-17/BF). $600-1,000.
