This lot consists of 1 late 19th-century Greek officer's sword with an overall length of 39 1/2". Blade is marked at the ricasso "L. ZEITLER WIEN VIII." Gilded brass hilt with a 3-branch semi-basket guard, showing a flaming bomb at the top of the quillon area. Wire-wrapped leather grip. No scabbard. / 1 German-made short sword, measuring 21 1/2" overall with a 16 1/2" blade that is marked on the spine "D.A. NOHASCHECK HOFSCHWERTFEGER MAINZ." Solid brass hilt with narrow languets and a plain knuckle bow. Brass-mounted leather scabbard. / 1 Partial hunting sword, measuring 28 1/2" overall with a plain blade. The guard for this sword is missing, but there is a brass ferrule and pommel cap above and below the shaped antler grip. No scabbard. / 1 M1914 Swiss sawback bayonet for the Schmidt-Rubin rifle. The bayonet has an overall length of 25 1/4", and the ricasso is marked "HS." The iron crossguard is numbered "39986." Small two-piece wooden grip with large iron pommel. Black enameled iron scabbard. CONDITION: Greek sword shows moderate overall wear. Short sword shows light overall wear with some scuffing to the scabbard. The hunting sword generally has an oxidized patina throughout. Bayonet shows light overall wear. (02-23399/BF). $400-600.
