An example of this cartridge box is shown on page 662 of the above mentioned book. Russet leather cartridge box embossed with "US" on lid & marked on back "U.S. / ARSENAL / BENECIA / J.F.S.". Wooden block holds 12 cartridges. 2) MODIFIED BENECIA ARSENAL OF CALIFORNIA. An example of this cartridge box is shown on page 664 of the above mentioned book. Russet leather cartridge box embossed with "US" on lid & marked on back "U.S. / ARSENAL / BENECIA " & "J.F.S.". This cartridge boxe's notable features is the modification from leather belt loops to hooks to be used on WWI web belts. Wooden block holds 12 cartridges. 3) 22 LR ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1908. An example of this cartridge box is shown on page 660 of the above mentioned book. Russet leather cartridge box embossed with "US" on lid & marked on back "ROCK ISLAND / ARSENAL / 1908 / H.E.K.". Wooden block holds 20 cartridges. CONDITION: all boxes in good to very good intact leather showing light wear. #4 shows sm. tear on lid flap.
