This group consists of 1) US M1860 staff and fild officer's sword measuring 36" overall with an etched 29" blade. Etching includes military, patriotic and foliate motifs. Gilded brass hilt with shark skin grip. Plated scabbard with gilded brass mounts. 2) US M1850 foot officers sword measuring 34" overall with an etched 28" blade. Etching includes military, foliate and patriotic motifs with a panel that reads "USMC". Etched near the ricasso is "W. H. HORSTMANN & SONS PHILADELPHIA ". Gilded brass hilt with wire wrapped leather grip. No scabbard. 3) US non-regulation cavalry saber measuring 41" overall with a 34' etched blade. The etching includes a spread winged American eagle and a large "US". Iron hilt with 2-branch guard and wire wrapped shark skin grip. Black painted iron scabbard. 4) British .577 Enfield bayonet witha blown out ring and no scabbard. CONDITION: M1860 shows light wear but no wire. M1850 has a gray mottled blade and wear to the hilt. Non-reg has overall wear with dents in the scabbard. Bayonet is a relic. (02-25308/BF). NON-GUN. $800-1,200.
