1) IMPERIAL. A large, framed German Army WWI battle flag. Frame measures 50 1/2" x 30 1/2", and we suspect the flag is larger than the frame. Flag depicts a Maltese cross at the red, white, and black canton and a left-of-center black cross with a central medallion showing a Prussian eagle. The entire flag is printed and sewn with multiple rows of reinforced stitching at the edges. The flag has not been examined out of the frame and could have markings on the hoist. CONDITION: flag appears to be in very solid condition, with only the most minor small spots of discoloration. 2) WWII. A large, framed WWII German Wehrmacht battle flag. Flag measures 51” x 29 1/2" and depicts a Maltese cross in the red canton with a left-of-center black cross and a party symbol disc in the center. The canton is marked “N.V.P.F.v VLISSIHGEN & CO’s KATOENFABR. HELMOND (HOLLAND)” & “Kr.FL. 80X135”. CONDITION: flag shows very little wear with minor staining and very light fading. 3) WWII. A framed WWII German political party banner measuring 30” x 31 1/4" that includes 3” of fringe at the base. The banner has a printed party symbol on a sewn white circular disc in the center of a red field. The banner is outlined in a 3/4" white tape. It appears that the banner was recovered by a military police unit of the 5th Armored Division. Many members of the unit have signed the banner, mostly on the white circular disc. The border and the field also have several signatures with hometowns noted. CONDITION: the banner obviously saw extensive use and has a few holes and is quite faded. The holes at the top of the banner could actually be battle damage. (02-22739/BF). $800-1,200.
