1) LUFTWAFFE. A nice example of a German Luftwaffe M1940 single decal helmet. Helmet has a dark gray/blue finish with a single Luftwaffe eagle on the left side. Partial liner with partial chinstrap. The inside left is stamped “ET66”, and inside rear is difficult to read but appears to be “37”. CONDITION: original finish is about 90%. Decal is about 70%. Liner is quite rough with significant losses. Chinstrap is only 10% present. 2) NORWEGIAN. A Norwegian reissued M1940 German helmet with a dark greenish tan painted finish. Both sides of the helmet have a Norwegian decal featuring a rampant lion with axe on a shield all beneath a crown. No liner, chinstrap, or band. The inside left of the helmet is stamped “ET64”, and inside rear of the helmet is stamped “959”. CONDITION: painted finish is approx. 85%. Both decals are also about 85%. 3) PITH HELMET. A 2nd model WWII German pith helmet with a dark field green felt exterior. There is a Wehrmacht eagle in shield on the left side, and a national colors shield on the right side. Green leather chinstrap & brim binding. Inside of the helmet is green felt with a pressed red felt crown. Tan leather sweatband is impressed “JHS”. CONDITION: felt has some minor moth nips. The rear of the leather binding is deteriorating with losses. All other parts of the helmet are sound. (02-20912/BF). $700-1,000.
