1) 1ST MODEL. Overall length: 19 1/8". Plain blade marked, “PAUL WEYERSBERG & CO SOLINGEN (logo)”. Silver plated guard & pommel w/ gilded mobile Party symbol. Wire wrapped, blue leather grip. Blue leather covered scabbard has silver plated mounts & original hanging chain. CONDITION: blade shows areas of original factory polish. Guard & pommel show some tarnish. Grip leather is a bit worn. Wire is complete. Scabbard has some losses to the leather particularly at the lower edge.
2) 2ND MODEL. Overall length: 16 1/2". Plain blade marked, “(knight’s head) WKC SOLINGEN”. Aluminum crossguard & pommel. Aluminum wire wrapped yellow grip. Knot attached to the handle. Plated scabbard. Correct Luftwaffe hangers. CONDITION: blade has areas of original factory polish. Entire hilt, knot, scabbard & hanger show light wear.
3) 2ND MODEL. Overall length: 8 7/8". An interesting miniature Luftwaffe dagger w/ blade engraved “June 6th 1945 Solingen-Germany”. Ricasso is marked, “(king)SMF SOLINGEN” & “D.R.G.M.”. Aluminum crossguard & pommel. Orange grip, no wire. No scabbard. CONDITION: dagger shows light wear overall. PROVENANCE: Collection of Brian C. Pinkerton. (02-15448-1/BF). $1,000-1,400.
