This lot contains items of questionable authenticity that may be of post-WWII manufacture. We encourage interested parties to examine items in this lot closely and in person, if possible. Preview times are available upon request. 1) BALLOON. A seldom-seen NSFK Badge for Free Balloon Pilots. The badge depicts a silver oak leaf wreath with an NSFK symbol at the top. The center of the badge shows a hot-air balloon in darkened metal. The reverse has a narrow pin and is stamped "1530". (02-22569-2/BF). 2) PILOT. Another scarce NSFK Badge for Motor Pilots. This 2nd model stamped badge has a silver finish and depicts a large oak leaf wreath with an NSFK symbol at the bottom and a propeller-driven airplane in the center. The reverse has a wide pin mounted horizontally. The reverse reads, on the wing of the airplane, "GES. GESCH. 22639". (02-22570/BF). 3) PILOT. A later NSFK Badge for Motor Pilots. This 3rd model cast badge appears to be made of zinc and depicts a large oak leaf wreath with an NSFK symbol at the top and an eagle in flight in the center. The reverse has a narrow pin and is marked on the back of the eagle, "GM No 111241". (02-22570/BF). CONDITION: badges 1 and 2 show very light wear overall. Badge 3 has a dark, oxidized finish, both on the front and reverse of the badge. $300-600.
