The ricasso is stamped "(squirrels) R&B" and "(liberty cap) LIBERTAD R.M.". Brass hilt with a 2-branch semi-basket guard. The underside of the guard is stamped "GEN. KEO. 14.". Wire wrapped leather grip. Iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a clean finish with some staining near the tip, and the blade does show evidence of sharpening. Hilt shows light wear. Grip leather is about 60% but the wire is complete. Scabbard has a dark finish with some oxidation and a few shallow dents. 2) M1840. Overall length: 33 1/2". Blade length: 27 3/4". An enlisted musician's sword with a plain blade featuring a single medium fuller. The blade is stamped "N.J" on the ricasso, indicating issuance by the state of New Jersey. Solid brass hilt with simulated wire wrapped grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray mottled patina. Hilt has a pleasing light mustard patina. 3) M1860. Overall length: 42 1/2". Scabbard shows light oxidation towards the top. 4) MILITIA. Overall length: 39". Blade length: 33 1/2". A militia style artillery saber featuring an engraved blade that has a single wide fuller. The engraving appears to include various foliate motifs and sprays of arms. Brass hilt with a 2-branch semi-basket guard and a sharply downturned pendulous quillon. Wire wrapped leather grip. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark gray patina, is a bit bent, and its engraving is somewhat obscured. Hilt is quite solid but is slightly misshaped.
