1) SPEAR. A 52" fishing spear likely African in origin. Bamboo shaft with a wooden tapered 14 1/2" point attached with rattan. The first 6 1/4" of the point is carved & decorated with white & red paint. 2) SPEAR. A 54 3/8" fishing spear likely African in origin. Bamboo shaft with a wooden tapered 17" point attached with rattan. The first 4 1/2" of the point is carved & decorated with white & red paint. Atop the carving is 6" of reverse pointed carvings to help hold the prey from escape. 3) SPEAR. A 48 1/2" fishing spear likely African in origin. Bamboo shaft with a wooden tapered 12" point attached with rattan. The first 6 1/2" of the point is carved & decorated with white paint. 4) SPEAR. A 54" hunting spear possibly African in origin. Wooden shaft with an iron 23 1/2" tip culminating in a 4 1/2" x 2" point. In back of the point is a 2 1/2" barb to prevent prey from escaping. The shaft was likely originally longer but appears broken on the end. 5) QUIVER/ARROWS. A 20" wooden or bamboo quiver with a leather base containing 9 iron tipped, bamboo shafted arrows averaging 27" in length. CONDITION: spears show light overall wear except as noted. Quiver & arrows show light to moderate wear with heavily oxidized points. 1 Shaft is missing its point. (02-17583/BF). $200-400.
