1) This helmet has a sanded, dark field green-painted finish. The outside left has the red and white-painted insignia of the 78th Division. Full interior liner with black leather chinstrap. The 78th Division was active in the Battles of Meuse-Argonne, St. Mihiel, and Lorraine. CONDITION: helmet retains most of its original finish. The liner and chinstrap are dry but intact. 2) This helmet has a smooth, dark field green-painted finish. The front of the helmet has the painted insignia of the 7th Infantry Division. The interior liner is missing, but the chinstrap is intact. CONDITION: helmet shows extensive wear and shows scattered oxidation. The insignia on the front is light but discernible. 3) This helmet has a smooth, very dark green-painted finish. The interior shows a leather liner with what appears to be a WWII-era khaki cotton chinstrap. CONDITION: helmet shows moderate wear with dents to the body. Liner and chinstrap are dry but present. 4) This helmet has a dark green-painted finish with two small holes in the front that possibly were for an insignia of some type. This helmet has no molded border but features a raw edge. Painted cloth and leather liner with a leather chinstrap. CONDITION: exterior shows moderate wear. Liner is dry but present. Chinstrap is complete but does show wear and breaks. (02-23382-4/BF). $300-500.
