"US" embossed on front of bodies. Belt loops retained by 3 rivets. All flaps retained by brass stud. 1) BENECIA U.S. ARSENAL. Made of black bridle leather. Flap has double retainer holes & stamped "H-2" , "48" & "A.H.". Belt loop scratched "WHC / #". CONDITION: holster has good intact leather with tight stitching, heavy cracking of leather. Muzzle end is open. Flap has spots of red paint. Minute spots of verdigris on brass parts. 2) Black bridle leather holster with flap having single retainer hole & stamped "A / 26". Muzzle end has drainage hole on leather cap. CONDITION: holster in fair intact condition with tight stitching & heavy cracking of leather. Finish flaking noticeable on belt loop. Brass parts show verdigris. 3) Black bridle leather holster with flap having double retainer hole. Muzzle cap has drainage hole. CONDITION: very good intact holster with tight stitching, scattered spots of mildew & verdigris on leather. Brass parts shows heavy verdigris. One of the retainer holes on flap shows wear. Moderate cracking of leather on flap & belt loop. 4) ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL. Dark brown leather holster with stitched muzzle end, rather than having a drainage cap. Belt loop has noticeable thinner diameter for belt compared to the other. Flap has inspector's initials "J.P." & "D.C.L.". CONDITION: good showing wear to markings, marks & cracking of leather on creases of top portions of leather. Brass shows patina. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Edward Scott Meadows.
