1) LUFTWAFFE. A well-used example of a German M1942 single-decal Luftwaffe helmet. Helmet has a gray/blue painted finish with a Luftwaffe decal on the left-hand side. The interior left is stamped "ET66". The helmet has an original tan leather liner but no chinstrap. CONDITION: the helmet shows heavy wear with approx. 40% of its original painted finish mixed with oxidation, and the decal is about 80%. Liner shows wear with minor losses and a touch of rodent damage. 2) LUFTSCHUTZ. A scarcer example of a police-style Luftschutz helmet in field green paint with a large winged Luftschutz insignia on the front. The interior has no visible stampings but does have a partial liner and chinstrap. CONDITION: painted finish is approx. 70% as is the decal. Liner is reasonably solid but shows losses, likely from rodent damage. Only traces of the chinstrap remain. 3) POLICE. A WWII German police helmet in black paint with no insignia on the exterior. The interior has no markings and is missing its liner, chinstrap, and band. CONDITION: helmet finish is about 80%. 4) ITALIAN. This helmet appears to be a repainted M1933 Italian helmet. The exterior is black with a German party decal on the right side and a death’s head decal on the left. The interior has an 8-tongue leather liner with a cotton canvas chinstrap. CONDITION: it is quite likely this helmet was painted and the decals applied well after WWII. The finish and decals are about 70%. The liner and chinstrap appear to show artificial age. (02-22920-1/BF). $500-700.
