1) SWORD CANE. A well made sword cane measuring 37 1/2" in overall length with a 26 3/4" blade that fits neatly into the shaft of the figured maple cane. The cane top is silver and originally engraved with initials that are now difficult to read. The ferrule and tip are brass with 1/2" iron protrusion at the base. CONDITION: cap is heavily worn, but the balance of the cane shows light wear.
2) KNIFE. An interesting homemade knife measuring 8 3/4" overall with a crudely forged iron blade and a bone handle tied on with sinew. CONDITION: knife shows light wear overall.
3) BOWIE KNIFE. A nice early small bowie knife measuring 11 1/8” overall with a 6 1/8” blade. Plain blade is marked “JOSEPH, RODGERS & SONS CUTLERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES NO6 NORFOLK STREET SHEFFIELD”. Heavy German silver figured guard with 2-piece fancifully carved ebony grips. No scabbard. CONDITION: knife shows light wear overall.
4) BELT KNIFE. A large belt knife measuring 18” overall and reminiscent of a Civil War fighting knife. This example is modern made of quality materials and workmanship. It has a forged blade & guard with a plain wood grip. CONDITION: light wear overall.
5) SHORT SWORD. A short sword that was originally associated with French cadets in the late 18th century. This example is of late 19th century production and is likely for fraternal ceremonial use. The sword measures 25 1/2" overall. It has a plain blade and solid brass hilt with a fish scale formed grip. Brass mounted leather scabbard. CONDITION: sword generally shows light wear with some staining to the blade. Scabbard is missing small areas of finish. (02-17811/BF). $600-900.
