1) The French or Comoro Royal order of the Star of Anjouan was instituted in 1874 as a French Colonial order of Knighthood by Sultan Said Ali bin Said Omar of the Grand Comore Island of Anjouan. The medal is an 8 pointed star with a red and blue ribbon. CONDITION: light wear with some tarnish. 2) The French Medal of Social Merit was instituted in 1893 and was awarded for acts of merit for the country of France. CONDITION: light wear overall. 3) The French Order of Academic Palms was instituted in 1808 and awarded to distinguished academics and teachers. CONDITION: light wear overall. 4) The French order of Maritime Merit Knights Star was created in 1930 and is issued to the Merchant Navy and Ports Administration. The medal is an 8 pointed white enameled star with a blue and green ribbon. CONDITION: light wear over all. 5) The French National Order of Merit was instituted in 1963 by President Charles DeGaulle to recognize distinguished military or civil achievements in France.
