1) WWI. An M1916/17 German Army helmet with vestiges of camouflage paint remaining. Helmet has no liner, band, or chinstrap. A stamp on the inside left appears to read “NJ62”. The camouflage paint appears to be light green, dark green, gray, brown, & black. CONDITION: camouflage finish is about 30%. The balance of the helmet has an oxidized patina. 2) WWII. A repainted M1940 Kriegsmarine helmet. Helmet has a dark green painted finish with a gold Wehrmacht eagle on the left side and national colors on the right side. Decals appear to be added in the post-war period. The inside left rim is stamped “ET64”, and the inside rear is stamped “499”. Original liner stamped “56”, and brown leather chinstrap. CONDITION: repainted finish is 99%. Each decal is better than 95%. Liner & chinstrap show light to moderate wear. 3) WWII. A scarce, small-sized, M1935 Wehrmacht helmet with a dark gray/green painted finish and a Wehrmacht decal on the left side with a national colors decal on the right. The inside left is stamped “Q60”, and the inside rear is stamped “822”. Original liner is stamped size “53”. Original chinstrap is marked on the end “R EHRHARDT POESSNECK 1937”. CONDITION: helmet finish is 99%. Decals are also 99%. Liner shows light wear, and chinstrap shows light to moderate wear. 4) WWII. An M1942 combat helmet with a black painted finish and no decals. There is no stamp on the inner left, but the inner rear is stamped “3409” below “hkp64”. The full liner is stamped size “57”. Original chinstrap. CONDITION: finish is about 90%. Liner & chinstrap show light to moderate wear. 5) WWII STYLE. An interesting German helmet, of undetermined age, made of fiberglass with an aluminum lower border. The body is painted a dark silver with 4 rivets on each side and a screened vent on each side. Liner is stamped size “56”. Odd, 4-contact point chinstrap. 8-Tongue leather liner marked in ink “Krobeln N”. The lower part of the liner has a recent ink mark that reads “Hitler youth hat”. CONDITION: helmet finish is about 90%. Liner & chinstrap show light to moderate wear. (02-21042-7/BF). $1,000-1,500.
