This lot includes 1 very large kukri from the first half of the 20th century. It measures approx. 21" overall with a 16" curved blade. There is an engraved signature near the hilt that appears to read "Hidio." Dark wooden grip with inset silver decoration and bands plus a few aluminum tacks. It has a leather-covered wooden scabbard that is nearly complete but split. / 1 Early kukri from the 19th century, measuring 16" overall with an 11" curved blade. The lower spine has a hammered decoration. The grip is carved bone, and the leather-covered scabbard has numerous brass decorations and an inset blue stone that may be lapis. / 1 Early 20th century kukri measuring 15 3/4" overall with a 10 3/4" blade that has punched decoration on the lower spine. Dark wooden grip with brass inlays and aluminum tack decoration. Leather-covered wooden scabbard housing two miniature kukri. / 1 Late 19th to early 20th century kukri measuring 13" overall with a 7 1/2" plain, curved blade that shows evidence of sharpening. The very decorative scabbard has a red velvet covering with an ornate wirework brass tip and throat. The front of the tip and throat are covered with small blue and red semi-precious stones. / 1 Early 20th century kukri measuring 10" overall with a 6 3/4" blade featuring hammered decoration. The wooden grip is inlaid with brass and aluminum. The wooden scabbard has a similar type of decoration. / 1 Ethnic knife, possibly of Indian origin, measuring 13 3/4" overall with a plain 6 1/4" blade. The wooden sheath has a carved, stylized motif. CONDITION: all items are generally solid, except as noted above. Some of the blades show minor oxidation. The bone-handled example has a cracked grip that remains solid. A few scattered inlays are missing. (02-23415/BF). $400-600.
