1) BALL & WILLIAMS BALLARD SPORTING RIFLE. Cal. 38 RF. S# 153. Bbl. 24" oct. w/ blade front sight & elevator adj. sporting rear sight. Lever operated single shot action w/ manually operated extractor. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ crescent steel buttplate. Ball & Williams was the first mfg. of Ballards 1862-1865. CONDITION: metal has faded finish showing general light pitting w/ spots of red rust & heavy dents on action. Hammer spur is broken off leaving action non functioning. Wood has worn original finish showing numerous dents & marks. Dark pitted bore. 2) JOSLYN 2ND MODEL BREECHLOADING PERCUSSION CARBINE. Cal. 52 RF. S# 6022. Bbl. 22" w/ 2 leaf rear sight, front sight is removed. Single shot action w/ hood that rotates left for loading. Right side mounted island lock w/ saddle ring & bar on left side. Walnut stock w/ iron fittings. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to dark patina showing surface corrosion & pitting. Stock has dark worn appearance w/ numerous scratches & dents. Forearm band is missing. Lock tumbler is broken, hammer is missing. Dark rusted bore. / 3 BURNSIDE FIFTH MODEL BREECHLOADING CIVIL WAR CARBINES: Cal. 54. Bbl. 21" rnd. w/ blade front sight & single leaf rear sights. Fifth model carbines identified by guide screw at center of right side of receiver. Lever operated single shot actions. Band fastened forearm & straight grip walnut stocks w/ sling swivels & steel carbine buttplates. 3) S# 6935. Left side of action has saddle ring bar. Left side of stock has 2 clear "GC" cartouches. CONDITION: metal shows general red rust. Some action screws are replacements. Stock has dark appearance w/ mildew. Heavily rusted bore. 4) S# 16203. Left side of stock has "RHW" cartouche. CONDITION: metal has dark rusty appearance w/ general pitting & corrosion. Hammer is broken at neck. Action is not opening & closing properly. Forearm has worn appearance w/ numerous dents & marks. Stock is broken through wrist w/ lg. piece of wood missing between buttplate toe & swivel. Dark rusty bore. 5) S# unidentifiable. CONDITION: gun has dark charred appearance from fire damage. Action is frozen. Saddle ring bar has been removed from left side. (01-18387 (5) /DS). ALL ANTIQUE. $400-800.
