1) ROBY 1862 DATED NCO SWORD. US marked E.S.S. proofed blade with S proofed brass guard. No scabbard. CONDITION: overall good-fair. The blade has a dark patinaed surface with spots of oxidation and crisp markings. The hilt has scattered light handling marks.2) AMES 1863 DATED NCO SABER. A.H.C. inspected guard and blade. CONDITION: overall good. Blade is good with a coating of lacquer and spotty old oxidation. Hilt has scattered light handling mark. 3) AMES 1859 MARINE MUSICIAN'S SWORD DATED 1862. A.D.K. inspected blade. AHC inspected guard. The marine version of the musician sword from the 1861 contract did away with the folding inner guard that was found on earlier versions. Accompanied with a NCO scabbard that is missing the throat. CONDITION: overall good. Blade has an even dark patina with a coat of lacquer and some spots of oxidation. The makers marking is weak, however all other markings are crisp. Scabbard is rough.4) POST CIVIL WAR 1860 STAFF & FIELD OFFICERS SWORD. Unmarked plain blade example with leather and wire wrapped grip. Accompanied with brass mounted steel scabbard with star accents. CONDITION: overall fair-good. Blade has a mottled patina with a coating of lacquer. The hilt has scattered handling marks. Grip leather has scuffing and handling marks. Nice scabbard with a few spots of oxidation. 5) POST WAR HARDING UNIFORM & COSTUME 1860 STAFF & FIELD OFFICERS SWORD. US motif etched blade. Grip missing leather and wire. Brass mounted steel scabbard with floral motif. CONDITION: overall fair-poor. The blade has spotty oxidation with wear to the etching and a coat of protective lacquer. Grip is poor with chips to the remaining wood base. Hilt shows scattered handling marks. Scabbard has a dark even patina with spots of pitting and oxidation. (02-26647/ZAL). NON-GUN. $500-800.
