Cal. 7.62x51mm. S# 52085. Bbl. 25" over brake. The vast majority of complaints about the (new) AR15 fielded during the Vietnam War was based on the ballistic superiority & effectiveness of the then current M14. The M1A is the typical civilian mfg. semi-auto evolution of that rock solid battle rifle. 22" barrel, marked "HR7790190 1252 AG" terminated w/ flash hider & strait blade front sight w/ bayonet lug. Corresponding rear sight adj. for windage & elevation. Currently hosting 3x9 ART II Scope on proper mount. Clip guide not drilled & tapped. Matte parkerized finish on all exposed metal surfaces. M14 hardwood stock. DOD cartouche and proof P markings both visible. Selector cutout never filled in. Folding shoulder rest & trap door w/ cleaning kit. Green canvas sling, MAGS: 4 steel 20 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: ART II Scope w/ green plastic case w/ web gear backing. CONDITION: Finish coverage complete & consistent w/ some gentle thinning on high spots. Dark stained stock w/ some light finish thinning in handling areas. Typical impressions. Cartouche & P Proof both legible. Scope glass clear w/ sharp reticle. Bore is bright w/ good rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. PROVENANCE: From the estate collection of Thomas J. Mulligan. (23-2220./JZ). MODERN. $1,200-1,800.
