This interesting group includes 1 pair of Civil War era binoculars with “LEMAIRE FABI PARIS” written around the eyepieces. / 1 Pair of brass bodies French binoculars marked “N FRANCE (deer head) U.S.N. NO543”. This pair of binoculars is of an early style and likely dates prior to 1900. / 1 Pair of circa 1890 binoculars with a leather cover over brass and German silver. Binoculars are marked “MADE IN FRANCE”. / 1 Pair of German binoculars in original carrying case. Binoculars are black painted metal with a textured covering. They are marked on the crosspiece “HENSOLDT WETZLAB 38850 Jagd—Dialyt 7X42”. / 1 Small pair of binoculars in their original russet leather case. Binoculars are marked “LOUIS M. CLARKE BOSTON, MASS.” & “8 POWER. Bausch & Lamb Optical Co. New York. Rochester, N.Y. Chicago.” There is a paper tag identifying the owner of these as Andrew H. Addoms who graduated from the Naval Academy in 1914, was a Lieutenant on a sub-chaser in WWI, served on a gun boat in China and was a Captain in WWII. / 1 Pair of circa 1890-1915 binoculars marked on the crosspiece “VERDI PARIS”. Binoculars are housed in their original case. / 1 Pair of circa 1890 binoculars with a leather cover over metal. Binoculars are marked “MADE IN FRANCE” on the crosspiece and the eyecups are marked “SPORTIER PARIS” & “DAY & NIGHT GLASS”. Binoculars are housed in their original case with detached lid. / 1 Pair of US Military binoculars marked “BINOCULAR M1381 6X30” & “THIS INSTRUMENT HAS COATED OPTICS CLEAN LENSES CAREFULLY”. Binoculars have their original carrying case marked “CASE, CARRYING, M17.” CONDITION: binoculars show light to moderate wear on some of the earlier examples.
