These medals were designed by Tiffany and awarded to Ohio soldiers who served during the American Civil War. Each medal shows Victory crowning a Union soldier on the obverse with the dates 1861-1865. The reverse reads “THE STATE OF OHIO TO (soldier’s name) VETERAN (soldier’s unit) OHIO VOLUNTEER (branch).” All medals are engraved to a soldier of the Infantry. CONDITION: 5 medals have their original suspension devices and ribbons intact. Two medals have an altered suspension device and a modern replacement ribbon. One medal has its original suspension device but no ribbon, and one medal is unawarded and not drilled for a suspension device. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Robert "Mike" Bricker.
