CARTRIDGES. Cal. 9mm. S# NSN. Bbl. 6.25”. Standard configuration of Civil War era Liege made pinfire revolver, 10.75” overall, 6.25” round barrel stamped “E. LEFAUCHEUX / INVr BREVETE”, high fixed rear sight, checkered grips, spur trigger guard. “C.H. WILCOX” stamped in butt. There are 11 soldiers found in Civil War database with that name. However, there is documentation included stating this revolver belonged to Charles H. Wilcox of the 57th Massachusetts. Cartridge tin is full of 50 “SB” head stamped cartridges, “Sellier & Bellot” cartridges made in Prague for English speaking market, starting in 1870. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: full 50 round tin of 9mm cartridges with damaged paper label & later Tennessee ammunition tax stamp. Documentation including 1985 signed affidavit that this revolver belonged to Charles H. Wilcox, 57th Massachusetts. Along with copies of his service records & correspondence concerning the revolver. CONDITION: good to very good overall, no finish, good markings, chip in backstrap, traces of original varnish, mechanics fine, discernible rifled bore. (01-22359/JS). $1,500-2,500.
