Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 320 (1936). This high quality gun has 26-1/2" chopper lump barrels fitted with narrow swamped game rib. Barrel flats are stamped with Belgian nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers and date code for 1936. Case hardened H&H type sidelock action features automatic safety ("SAFE" inlaid in gold), hidden third fastener, bushed strikers, H&H type detachable locks and double triggers (front articulated). Action and lockplates are near fully engraved with very well cit and shaded large open scroll which has floral highlights. Maker's name and address are in scroll bordered device on each lockplate. Scroll engraved top lever and trigger guard are blued. Gun is one of a pair with "1" gold inlaid in rear of barrel rib, on forend tip and on toeline of stock. Very nicely marbled and stump figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-3/8" over dark brown leather covered pad. Well shaped drop points and point pattern checkering are at grip. Matching splinter forend with Anson release is gold inlaid with the individual initials "PvW" on central diamond. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .723. R .722. Restriction: L .020 (mod). R .017 (mod). Wall thickness: L .024. R .024. STOCK: DAH: 2-1/2". DAC: 1-9/16". CAST: about 3/4" off. LOP: 14-3/8". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 7 oz. CONDITION: fine as refinished. Barrels retaining nearly all of a good quality re-black. Action re-cased colored and retains nearly all of that color; engraving is slightly softened. Top lever and trigger guard are re-blued. Stock has well done oil refinish with a few light scratches. Checkering re-cut and pad relatively new. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight; barrels slightly off face.
