SINGLE TRIGGER HEAVY GAME GUN WITH CASE. Cal. 20 Ga. 3". S# 1732. Filli Rizzini is one of the few remaining "Best" Italian makers. If made today, this gun would cost in excess of $70,000. It was made in 1981, the beginning of the "Golden Age" of Italian gun making and has 29 1/8" very well struck chopper lump barrels engraved "Filli RIZZINI MADE IN ITALY 20 GA 3"" on narrow game rib. Barrel flats are stamped with 1981 Italian nitro proofs for 3" chambers. Coin finished sidelock action features non automatic safety ("SICURA" engraved) and single non selective trigger. Action and lockplates are engraved with very well cut classic English style rose and scroll. Maker's name is at the bottom on each lockplate as well as on bottom of action over "MAGNO-V.T.". Engraver's signature "Walter Patelli" is on trigger plate. Small bow trigger guard is engraved to match, S# is on tang. Very finely marbled and lightly stumped figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 1/2" over checkered wood butt. Very well cut flat top point pattern checkering is on semi diamond grip. Matching splinter Rizzini patent ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .623". R .623". Restriction: L .034" (full). R .020" (mod). Wall thickness: L .038". R .039". STOCK: DAH: 2 1/16". DAC: 1 3/8". CAST: very slightly cast on. LOP: 14 1/2". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 9 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in a brown leather case with stitched leather corners by Nizzoli. Case is lined in dark green felt and has brown leather Rizzini label in lid, and contains a key. CONDITION: very fine with evidence of minimal field use. Appears to have been shot very little, however there are a fair amount of light marks on buttstock as would be found on a gun hunted for a season or so. Checkering also shows light wear. Barrels retain nearly all what appears to be their original blue with some minor rubs. Coin finish remains bright overall. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight, barrels on face, ejectors are in time, mechanical trigger works well. Case exterior is fine with some minor marks and rubs, straps and handle are good, interior is also fine. (22-5657/MGM). MODERN. $30,000-40,000.
