BUCKLE BELONGING TO SERGEANT BRONSON OF THE 17TH CONNECTICUT. An exceptional shot through M1851 sword belt plate. The buckle was struck by a mini ball or round ball just under the eagle's right wing. Allegedly, the buckle belonged to Augustus E. Bronson. We do not guarantee the identification of this group however the buckle is truly wonderful. The remainder of the group includes a CDV of the 17th Connecticut Volunteer Monument at Gettysburg, an excavated Connecticut button, an excavated Infantry "I" button, an excavated US bit boss, an artillery fuse, a Company A letter & a nonexcavated Infantry hat horn. CONDITION: excavated items have a dark excavated patina. CDV is still crisp. Infantry horn has a dark patina. (02-16873/BF). $500-800.
