FLINTLOCK PISTOL. Cal. 50. NSN. Bbl. 10" octagon with brass blade front & V notch fixed rear sight. Top flat is signed "A. L. M." Leonard Meadows of Beckley West Virginia was a builder of long rifles & pistols from the 1950's until his death in 1975. Breech end of the bbl. & the top tang are lightly scroll engraved. Engraved trade lock is marked "MM / MASLIN / WARRANTED". Plain trigger. Pin fastened curly maple stock has engraved iron pin escutcheons. Wrist of stock has a oval silver plate with incise leaf carving around the top tang. Acorn finial brass trigger guard & sideplate are lightly engraved. Bone tipped hardwood ramrod is held by a brass octagon thimble & single pipe. Weight 2 lbs. 1.4 ozs. CONDITION: Bbl. & lock have lightly faded browned finish showing spots of light corrosion. Stock has very good original finish. Sound mechanics. The bore retains strong rifling having spots of pitting. (01-27956/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,400-2,250.
