TAVERN SIGN "GREENWELL'S HOUNDS". 19th century. The lantern with domed roof, wire bail handle with glass panel sides and hinged door. An 8" diameter convex mercury glass reflector accompanies the lantern. Reflector bracket is missing. The one board trade sign with "Pitched Roof" and molded edges is decorated with a running fox flanked by engaged half pilasters. The title in black lettering on a white ground. SIZE: CONDITION: lantern with old black paint, some rust and pitting. Otherwise intact. Glass panels likely original. Sign in original paint, now weathered and faded. Otherwise good. PROVENANCE: From a Pennsylvania Estate Collection. (05-817, 05-852/TG). $400-500.
