Cal. tight 12 bore. S# 3305. The beautifully patterned 32" laminated steel barrels are gold inlaid "A.V. Lebeda v Praze" on flat top rib between gold inlaid scrolls. Breech plugs with vented platinum blow outs are nicely scroll engraved and the relief scene of a nesting duck is on rib extension. Breech iron has very long tang and is scroll engraved surrounding scene of a standing bunny. Back spring locks having fancy outlined plates are also engraved with exceptional scrolling acanthus which extends to flat faced hammers. Lockplate tails are relief engraved with game scenes with a setter and huddling covey of quail on left plate; a hound chasing a roebuck is on right. Front of right lock is engraved "Lebeda"; left "in Prag". Trigger plate is engraved with matching scroll which also appears on nicely filed trigger guard with face of kitty on bow; S# on tang. Nicely marbled and stump figured European walnut straight grip stock measures 14" over scroll engraved steel buttplate with fox at base of long top tang. In place of checkering nicely carved scroll and lines of leaves are at grip and around forend. Stock also features large swept right hand cheekpiece and broad sling loop. Stock attaches to barrel with captive sidebolt through shaped and engraved steel escutcheons. Old hickory ramrod with brass tip and tail (worm under cap) mounts through two plain pipes and thimble matching trigger plate. Rear pipe is fitted with sling loop. WEIGHT: 8 lb. 7 oz. CONDITION: good as lightly refinished. Barrels retaining most of a well done re-brown, other metal cleaned to coin finish; engraving remains sharp. Stock shows old oil refinish over some marks and a few subsequent marks. Carving shows light wear. Bores are good; show some pitting toward muzzles. Locks are good.
