This is a framed cardboard target that measures 30" in height and 24" in width. The target resembles the profile of Uncle Sam and was shot by the famous marksman Ad Topperwein. The upper left-hand corner of the target is signed by Mr. Topperwein and dated August 7th, 1942. It is stated that this target was shot at the Hill Top Skeet Club in Dayton, Ohio. The bottom right has a Winchester button with the Topperweins. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: an article about Topperwein's life and shooting exploits. CONDITION: target shows expected crazing and age-related wear. The frame shows some dings, scuffing, and staining. PROVENANCE: the collection of Gun Sport Ltd., owned by Jon R. Thomas.
