UNIFORM & EPHEMERA. 1902 style 6-button frock coat & visor cap both with 24th Infantry insignia, 9"x6" photograph of 8 identified NCOs of the 24th in uniform, 24th Inf discharge certificate of 1st Sgt. Reuben Douglas in 1875. The 24th was an original "Buffalo Soldier" infantry unit formed of all black enlisted soldiers. Also in lot are two officer's distinctive insignia and 1908 78-page Congressional "Brownsville Affray" report of the Buffalo Soldier racial unrest with white citizens and black soldiers. CONDITION: photo has chipped and broken corners, but crisp & clear content, pamphlet complete, yellowed cracking pages. Uniform is good overall. (02-26442-1/JS). NON-GUN. $400-800.
