TYPE 99 BOLT ACTION RIFLE WITH BAYONET, BAG, AND JAPANESE DOG TAG. Cal. 7.7x58mm Arisaka. S# 86869. Bbl. 26. Series 31 Type 99 bolt action rifle mfg. at the Toyo Kogyo arsenal under Kokura supervision. The receiver is marked with a complete chrysanthemum above Kanji characters denoting the model designation over the chamber with a Series 31 symbol followed by the S# and Toyo Kogyo arsenal insignia marked on the left. Metal components exhibit a blued finish. Standard 2-piece wood buttstock and handguard. Anti-Aircraft rear sight with "wings" and milled rear bbl. band with monopod. Type 30 bayonet mfg. by Toyada Jidoshoki Seisakusho with blued steel scabbard and brown leather frog. All numbers are matching and include the receiver, bolt body, knurled safety knob, firing pin, as well as the dust cover. Rifle is mounted with a proper unmarked brown leather sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a cloth bag exhibiting the Imperial Japanese flag above Kanji characters, as well as a Japanese dog tag. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish exhibiting some mild wear and thinning with scattered spots of light pitting present overall. Mirror bore exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Stock exhibits scattered marks, dings, and minor impressions, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Bayonet is very good overall.
