Cal. 32. S# 461. Bbl. 3 3/4". Matching numbers on frame, cyl., bbl. & both grip panels. Medium frame or "Late Production" Allen & Wheelock percussion revolver. Left side of bbl. has Allen & Wheelock Worcester Mass marking with April 16th, 1845 patent date. Left side of hammer has April 16th, 1845 patent marking. 5-shot 1 1/2" Cyl. has engraved scenes. Smooth hardwood grips. CONDITION: grips show scattered chipping, staining, dings & handling marks. Metal is mostly a gray patina with scattered oxidation, light pitting & dings. Action is very sluggish & slow but appears functional. Bore has scattered oxidation & pitting but good rifling. PROVENANCE: Former J.M. Davis Museum Collection.
