Cal. 44. NSN. 13.5" overall, 8.4" octagon barrel signed in script "AAW". Cal. 44 NSN. 57" overall, 42" octagonal barrel signed "AAW". Alvin A. White (1915-2006) best known as a master engraver for Colt firearms left a legacy of wonderful, decorated arms of many genres. This elegant "Golden Age" style Kentucky pistol has chamfered rebated lock, flat serpentine cock, faceted pan, bridled frizzen, sculptured feather spring finial. Mounted on striped dark maple stock, steel hardware other than silver side plate, thumb plate, and nose cap. CONDITION: fine overall. Lock retains muted case colors, balance dark silver patina. Barrel is gray patina. Stock retains much of its varnished finish with well carved moldings. Silver tarnished. Mechanically crisp, fine rifled bore.
