Cal. 69. NSN. 59 1/2" Overall. Bbl. 44 1/2" w/ no discernible proofs. Only markings noted were found internally & appear just to be a lg. “H” stamped inside lockplate. Our consignor felt this is a pre-1795 American made musket which is possible. This is an exacting copy of the 1770s Charleville w/ only notable differences are narrower bbl. tang, brass pan & frizzen bridle. CONDITION: good to very good overall, appears to be original & matching. Metal has a dark iron patina overall w/ refinishing around breech w/ different patination. Ramrod is a shortened replacement of later style. Stock has lg. sliver missing left side of tang. Mechanically sluggish w/ weak mainspring, clear smooth pitted bore. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of John "Tim" Breth Jr. (01-17799/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000
