ENFIELD RIFLE MUSKET. Standard configuration pattern 1853 with a 39” barrel featuring Birmingham proofs at breech, “Birmingham Small Arms” cartouche on right side buttstock. “1863 / TOWER” marked lock. “(Anchor) / S” stamped on top of comb next to buttplate tang; this mark is long associated with Confederate longarms from England. “WS” tack design on left side butt stock. CONDITION: Fair to good overall, missing sear spring screw as can be seen at tail of lock with empty screw hole, hammer screw hammered to stud, replaced rear sight, threaded ramrod has matching dark patina but not original. Mechanics need attention, good rifled bore with pitting. (01-21516/JS) ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
