Apparent Chinese copy of a Mauser C96 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Tsingtao Ironwork. The top flat of the faceted breech is marked "TSINGTAO/ IRONWORK". Right side of the frame is marked with the standard "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/ OBERNDORF A. Top of the bolt is stamped with a double crowned "U" German commercial proof. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips. Standard fixed blade front sight and tangent V-notch rear sight graduated 50-1000. No matching numbers are present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: reproduction wood stock / holster and brown leather harness with cleaning rod. CONDITION: metal components retain virtually all of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting spots and patches of mild to moderate pitting beneath the bluing, with scattered spots of oxidation present overall. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. Reproduction stock / holster and harness are very good overall. (26-434/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
