SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.63mm Mannlicher. S# 3147. Bbl. 6 1/4". Mannlicher Model 1905 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Steyr under contract for Argentina. Left side of the frame is marked "SYSTE/ MANNLICHER/ Md.1905/ WAFFENFABRIK/ STEYR", with the Argentine crest having been ground off on the right side. Frame, slide, and bbl. exhibit a reapplied blue finish, with the trigger and hammer having been cleaned and polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide (underside), as well as on the left side of the bbl. (twice). CONDITITON: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light to mild wear and thinning, some scattered superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light to mild pitting. Frame exhibits areas of mild pitting beneath the grips. In-the-white parts show some scattered spots of age related discoloration. Bore is bright, as refinished, exhibiting consistent mild to moderate pitting, while retaining good to strong rifling throughout. Grips show scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. $400-600.
