CARBINE. Cal. 7.65x53mm. S# 011731. Bbl. 22 1/2". Model 1909 bolt action cavalry carbine mfg. in Argentina by FMAP (Fabricaciones Militares). The receiver is marked with the Argentine crest above "EJERCITO ARGENTINO" over the top of the chamber, with "F.M.A.P./ MAUSER MOD. 1909" and "DIRECCION GENERAL DE FABRICACIONES MILITARES" marked on the left. Left side of the bbl. exhibits an apparent Century Arms import mark. Receiver, bolt assembly, and buttplate are polished in-the-white, with remaining parts exhibiting a blue finish. 1-piece plain wood stock with fixed sling loop on right and bayonet lug on underside. Dovetailed blade front sight (with protective "ears") and tangent V-notch rear sight graduated 2-14. All serialized parts are matching and include the receiver, bolt body, and trigger guard. CONDITION: in-the-white parts exhibit scattered spots and areas of age related discoloration, with scattered marks from prior cleaning. Blued parts have primarily faded to gray and brown patina, exhibiting scattered handling marks and some light pitting overall. Bore exhibits consistent light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (26-1592/MLW). CURIO. $350-550.
