Cal. 7.62x39. S# 9153158. Bbl. 16". A classic MAK-90 thumbhole AK47 variant, imported through KSI Pomona, CA. This was one of the earliest examples of a new restriction on the importation of firearms that were incorrectly categorized as “assault weapons”. While the original configuration was no longer importable, with the subtle changes necessary as included on this firearm, such as the elimination of a threaded muzzle and a bayonet lug, along with the thumbhole stock replacing the traditional separate stock & pistol grip, an entirely new market was born. This particular example proudly sports the Norinco stamping forward of the mag. well. Hooded post front sight and traditional rear sight elevations range from 100 to 800m. Blued finish on all exposed metal surfaces. The Norinco orange-ish wood is characteristic of that point of assembly. Heavy rubber recoil pad rear of stock. MAGS: 3 steel, 10 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original factory styrofoam, mags, sling, oil bottle, and cleaning kit, still in their original plastic. CONDITION: all aspects appear as though this is still residing in its original factory packaging, unused. Gun arrived in its original styrofoam in a factory plastic bag. Original metal import tag is still on the trigger guard. Bluing remains strong on all exposed metal surfaces, with typical light drag lines usually associated with storage. Bright bore with well-defined rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Terrance McCarty. (24-328/JZ). MODERN. $500-800.
