Cal. 38. NSN. Bbl. 22" full oct. rifled, bbl. stamped "A STORY WINDSOR VT". Asa Story was one of the more prolific gunmakers that worked in Vermont. He made many percussion rifles & shotguns of both sidelock & underhammer types. He started work about 1830 learning the blacksmith trade from his father. Mr. Story was one of the first to make an underhammer in northern New England. Asa died August 12, 1872 in Windsor VT. CONDITION: complete & original throughout. (01-21159/RG). ANTIQUE. $800-1100.
