39-2 SEMI AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# A565455 (1979-1980). Custom work done by Armament Systems and Procedures (ASP) as designed by Paris Theodore; approx. 3,000 units. A standard Smith & Wesson Model 39-2 pistol was converted by shortening the slide to 6" overall w/ Guttersnipe rear sight installed. Bbl. shortened to 3 1/2". Frame has had hammer altered to bobbed configuration., trigger guard altered to front hook configuration for 2 handed use & added 2 piece clear plastic grips marked "PATENTED" on back sides. After alterations were done, pistol was refurbished in a black matte Teflon finish, obscuring some of the original Smith & Wesson markings. MAGS: 2 - 7 rd. mags. w/ ASP marked triangle floorplates. Mags. skeletonized to indicate how many rds. are left. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: C Rusty Sherrick Horse Hide belt holster & mag. pouch. CONDITION: near excellent overall as refurbished to ASP configuration w/ near excellent bore. PROVENANCE: Estate collection of Fred Inganamort. (22-1641/MD). MODERN. $2,500-3,500.
