SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 903. Bbl. 10". Custom P.08 Luger, assembled from a conglomeration of parts and components. WWI era Erfurt arsenal frame, with distinctive Crown/RC (Revision Commission) proof on the front of the trigger guard. DWM bbl. extension is marked "1920/ 1915" over the top of the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs marked on the right. Mauser "byf" code front toggle link and matching Mauser breechblock. Rear toggle link is of unknown mfg., with the rear sight having been ground off. Tapered aftermarket bbl. is stamped with a spurious Imperial Japanese Nagoya arsenal insignia above a peace symbol. Front sight blade appears to be a handmade replacement. Firing pin lug has been ground down and is poorly fit. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original blue finishes, with the balance having been heavily cleaned at one time and exhibiting dark age-related discoloration, with scattered spots of pitting present overall. Bbl. extension exhibits a crack that stems from the chamber and runs approximately 1/4" up the left side of the bbl. extension. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of moderate pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips exhibit heavy smoothing, with the right panel exhibiting two large cracks (one stemming from the top, one from the bottom), and the left panel exhibiting a chip in the usual area to the rear of the safety lever. Mag. body exhibits heavy pitting overall. (24-2275/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
