SNIPER RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 3423412. Bbl. 24". Bbl. marked behind front sight "RA / flaming bomb / 7-43". No iron sights are fitted. Receiver has correctly spaced markings including on the left side of the receiver ring "U.S. / REMINGTON / MODEL 03-A3". S# is visible on right side. Rifle has been assembled using a correct receiver & original Redfield scope mount. The bbl. date is in the correct range. Rifle has correct parkerized Redfield one piece scope base which has been shimmed at the forward end. The base is equipped w/ a "Leupold Alaskan 2.5X". Scope is additionally marked "OREGON, USA". 7/8" blued steel tube duplex reticle. Remington Model 1903-A3 bolt assembly w/ handle altered to clear the scope bell. All milled furniture including fine checkered trap buttplate. Unmarked late production pistol grip walnut stock. Stock has been cut for bolt handle w/ amateur gunsmith workmanship. Stock was originally mortised for receiver sight which is not present. Mortise has two piece walnut filler. Receiver has been glass-bedded into the stock. Tan leather Brownell's Competitor Plus sling. CONDTION: stock set has nice overall condition w/ light wear & scattered small handling marks. Receiver, bolt & bbl. retain a very large degree of its original gray parkerized finish. Balance of metal has a darker gray arsenal rework parkerization. Scope retains nearly all its original blue finish w/ several tiny handling marks. Optics are clear & serviceable. Bright shiny two-groove bore.
