TYPE BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 1455455. Bbl. 24". Replacement bbl. is marked "HS / flaming bomb / 11 44". Rifle is assembled using a receiver produced in 1934. The receiver has the punch mark in the right rail & on top of the boss on the right side of the receiver ring. Follower has been polished bright. Bolt is marked underneath handle w/ "F" & marked on top "NS" for nickel steel. Bolt has small gas hole. Receiver made w/o Hatcher hole. Receiver ring is drilled on top for scope base & fitted w/ plug screws. Rear sight base is Remington production w/o lightening cuts. Rear sight movable base & ladder marked "R". Blade front sight. All milled furniture including deep checkered trap buttplate. Walnut stock set w/ "C" type stock. Stock is marked on the left side w/ boxed "S.A. / SPG". Marked w/ "S" in cutoff recess. Faint drawing number at belly of stock & encircled "P" proof under grip. Brown leather sling marked "G.&K. / 1918 / J.L.R.". Sling appears to be in worn, but serviceable condition. Keepers are replacements. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel-plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock has original finish w/ wear & numerous scattered handling marks. Metal has arsenal rework blue finish w/ thinning & light wear. Very good shiny bore w/ sharp lands. (25-2685/RW). CURIO. $500-800.
