HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 25569. Bbl. 5 1/4". Model 600/43 mfg. by Astra and shipped to Parque de Artilleria in Burgos, Spain in 1951. Top of the slide is marked "UNCETA Y COMPANIA S.A./ GUERNICA ESPANA/ "ASTRA" MOD. 600/43/ 9m/m PARABELLUM". Left side of the frame is marked with a triad of Spanish proofs, with a "P" within a flaming ordnance bomb repeated on the left side of the slide and on the right side of the bbl. at the breech. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, save for on the trigger, safety lever, and bbl., which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, each inlaid with added HJ knife diamond insert. Fixed blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: x2 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: German black leather holster marked with the Akah logo on the rear. Interior of closure flap is marked "ZAHN" in ink. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some spots and patches of wear fading to gray patina, some scattered spots of light pitting beneath the finish, as well as a few scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Rear grip strap and grip safety have largely faded to gray patina, with the front grip strap exhibiting wear and thinning fading to gray patina. Bore exhibits consistent light pitting, while retaining good, albeit worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips are very good overall. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered handling marks, with patches and areas of light to mild age related cracking and crazing. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret. USAF Lt. Col. (26-571/MLW). CURIO. $300-450.
