& LAWRENCE MODEL 1841 MISSISSIPPI RIFLE. Cal. 54. NSN. Standard configuration with 33" round barrel dated 1850 and breech proofed "JCB / P" & "N.H." stamped brass furniture, lock marked "ROBBINS / & / LAWRENCE / U.S." and vertically "WINDSOR VT 1850" at tail. "WAT" & "JH" cartouches, "U.S" surcharge on butt plate. CONDITION: fine overall, complete and original, barrel retains most of its original brown finish & lock retains most of its original case colors, brass has mottled patina. Stock has been broken above lock and wood repaired and dyed to mask repairs, stock refinished and varnished. Mechanically fine with good rifled bore.
